讲座内容：
近年来，由于科技及硬件技术的进步，使得体积小、记忆容量大、低成本、多功能、省电且具无线与感测能力的感测器节点得以实现，这使物联网与无线传感器网络的应用日趋成熟，并广泛应用在许多不同的领域，如：自然灾害汇报、军事侦测与监控、位置追踪、环境采样、健康监控、自然生态监控、医学上的人体机能探测、路况监控、导航、工作场所危险监控、安全控管等多种领域。此次学术讲座，将介绍物联网的无线传感器网络的各种应用情境，也会介绍清华大学研究团队所设计的无线传感器平台，并展示国内一些研究团队使用此平台的各种有趣的应用。

讲座内容：
无线传感器网络的研究与应用已经取得了长足进展，但仍然存在一系列尚未得到完全解决的关键问题。本讲座将通过研讨座谈的形式对这些问题进行总结分析，结合当前正在开展的研究工作提出建议性的研究思路与方法，进一步的，还将给出关于未来发展趋势及研究方向的建议。

Jang-Ping Sheu received the B.S. degree in computer science from Tamkang University, Taiwan, in 1981, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, in 1983 and 1987, respectively.
He is currently a Chair Professor of the Department of Computer Science, Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. He was a Chair of Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Central University from 1997 to 1999. He was a Director of Computer Center, Central University from 2003 to 2006. His current research interests include wireless communications and mobile computing. He was an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems. He is an associate editor of the International Journal of Ad Hoc and Ubiquitous Computing and International Journal of Sensor Networks.
He received the Distinguished Research Awards of the National Science Council in 1993-1994, 1995-1996, and 1997-1998. He received the Distinguished Engineering Professor Award of the Chinese Institute of Engineers in 2003. He received the K. -T. Li Research Breakthrough Award of the Institute of Information and Computing Machinery in 2007. He received the Y. Z. Hsu Scientific Chair Professor Award in 2009. He received the Pan Wen Yuan Distinguished Research Award in 2014. Dr. Sheu is an IEEE Fellow and a member of Phi Tau Phi Society.
